My father, ing. Ján Beňo, born in 1918, was from Zvolenská Slatina. Before the war he taught mathematics and physics in Bánská Štiavnica, after the war he was in Prague and then until his death in Trenčín, where he founded and ran a computer center. I live in Prague, born 1951.

A Beňovci? – … družný, velmi charakterný, majú radi inovácie, pokrok, pracovať s víziou, čestný, nikdy sa nepovyšovali.

And Benyo-People (Beňovci) ? – … sociable, very characterful, they like innovation, progress, work with vision, honest, they never promoted themselves.

Okrem odborných fór, kde som výsledky publikoval, presadil i vo zdravotných poisťovňiach, som inde moc nezverejňoval, snáď jedna tisková konferencia a jeden rozhovor v ČT.

Regarding my question on the topic of „robotic surgery“, our namesake wrote to me: … I came to robotic surgery after the development of minimally invasive (laparoscopic…) surgery, which I have been involved in since its beginning. I like visions and at one time I had a management that supported it, on the contrary, it wanted visions from us, so they were better fulfilled. In early September 2001, an operation was performed, when the surgeon was sitting at the controls in New York and the patient was in the operating room in Paris. This progress was overshadowed by the terrorist attack on the twins, but it interested me very much and I began to focus on it intensively. It was a tough fight over 10 years, like any innovation, I trained at Descartes University in Paris, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in California I managed to pass the exam and get a certificate and then I bought the da Vinci system at the Na Homolce Hospital in Prague,

where I was the chief of surgery and tried (successfully) to involve colleagues from urology, gynecology, vascular surgery and cardiac surgery and managed to continue developing for several years, when I had already achieved over 1000 robotic surgeries. Apart from professional forums where I published the results, and promoted them in health insurance companies, I did not publish much elsewhere, perhaps one press conference and one interview on Czech Television. Otherwise, the results convinced me that robotic surgery is the future of surgery in many aspects. Otherwise, the term robotic is „a bit“ misleading, it is more of a manipulator-rotor, the control is more delicate, gentle and perfect with significantly better quality results and in many areas of surgery with a huge shift and fortunately today its great development is already beginning… Greetings from Prague, Pavel Beňo
